For Bo McKinney, helping people make the most of their financial assets is rewarding work. Bo enjoys guiding his clients as they implement the investment strategies that help them meet their financial and life goals so they can achieve their unique vision of the American Dream.
As a Financial Advisor of EAGLE Wealth Management Group, Bo takes a comprehensive approach to wealth management. He sees his role as helping people make well-informed decisions about their investments and retirement plans–providing them with greater financial independence, peace of mind and security.
With almost 38 years of experience in the financial services industry, Bo started his career in insurance with a large Atlanta-based firm and moved to advising individuals as a Financial Consultant with Shearson/American Express. In 1985, Bo joined Edward Jones – Investments and became the first Investment Advisor Representative in the Taylor area. He was providing financial planning services even before it was highly known as a profession. His goal is to help preserve and grow hard-earned assets of his clients, many of whom have experienced major life changes including retirement, divorce, or the loss of a spouse.
In 1989, Bo earned the Certified Financial Planner (SM) designation or CFP® from The College of Financial Planning (which required completion of two years of study and six exams). Bo continues to value education as a way to promote professional excellence. Additionally, he has earned the Certified Fund Specialist (SM) or CFS® designation, the Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) designation and the Certified Income Specialist (CIS) designation.
Bo is an active member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (National and Austin Chapter), the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the FPA Austin, and the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC).
Bo has conducted numerous seminars and workshops on financial topics.. He regularly holds presentations for his clients and their friends on topics such as Retirement Planning, Long-Term Care and Asset Protection through Estate Planning.
Bo also contributes to his community through his involvement with the Taylor Family YMCA and the YMCA of Greater Williamson County where he serves on their Board of Directors.
When he’s not working, Bo enjoys spending time with his wife, Melissa, their three beautiful daughters; Annie, Kathryn and Laura, and their three almost perfect grandchildren; Kinleigh, Beau Wiley and Hudson.
